Rubin Lewis O’Brien’s HR Manager, Sally Chesse has been heavily involved with the Torfaen Santa Appeal once again this year. The Santa Appeal, run by Torfaen Social Services, gives people the chance to donate gifts to children and young people who would otherwise miss out at Christmas time.
The Torfaen Santa appeal has been running for the last 16 years, and Sally has been involved with this project for approximately the last 6 years. Sally collects the bags from any staff and their family members who wish to participate, in preparation of delivering the presents out to the children.
Those who wish to be involved in the appeal are given a name, an age and a reference number of a child and they then donate gifts. Sally says ‘this is such a rewarding thing to do and gives a great sense of satisfaction knowing that you are giving a gift to a child or young person who might otherwise not be getting any presents at Christmas’.
