Over the last few months, members of staff have been attending Dementia Friendly training provided by members of Gwent Health and Social Care Transformation Team.
On Friday 21st September we were delighted to welcome Lynne Neagle AM, Cllr Mandy Owen from Torfaen County Borough Council and members of the Dementia Training team, to our offices where we were presented with the Dementia Friendly Communities Award.
Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help.
In addition we congratulated our Head of Reception Debra Maddox for signing up to become a fully trained Trainer which will enable her to provide in-house training for new staff and also offer free training sessions to our business partners.
