Terms and Conditions for Online Payments
1. Payment of Invoice or Payment on Account
1.1 In order to make a payment towards, or in satisfaction of, an invoice that has been issued to you, you will need to provide specific information from that invoice in order to process the payment. Please make sure you have the invoice available when making the payment.
1.2 In order to make a payment on account you will need to provide your reference number in order to process the payment. Please make sure you have the reference number available when making the payment.
1.3 We can accept a maximum payment of £5000 on our online payment system
1.4 Payments can only be accepted in GBP£ (Sterling)
2. Refund Policy
2.1 Querying a payment:
If you make a payment to Rubin Lewis O’Brien LLP, you will need to speak to the solicitor assigned to your matter to arrange a refund. Please call 01633 867000 for the switchboard, or use your solicitor’s contact information to get in touch.
2.2 Payment errors or corrections
If payment is made in error, such as an incorrect matter reference or overpayment, please speak to our accounts team by calling 01633 867000 or emailing info@rlo.law.
3. How We Protect Your Information
3.1 We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is an industry standard for internet payments. This means all of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet.
3.2 Check you are using a secure site. When your browser displays the online payment page, you will notice that the URL at the top of the browser window starts with https instead of http. You will also see a closed padlock icon in the bottom right hand corner of your browser window. Put your mouse over the padlock for a little while and you should see the encryption strength. It should be at least SSL Secured 128 bit.
3.3 If you share your PC or use a facility in a public place, make sure you are not overlooked as you enter your details and close the browser window and, if applicable, log off when you have finished.
