Partner, Solicitor, Head of Family Department
I am a Solicitor, Partner and Head of the Family department.
I have almost 30 year’s experience in family work covering divorce, unmarried families, children matters and financial issues in family breakdowns.
I am an accredited specialist member with Resolution, (an organisation made up of legal professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes) in the fields of private law children matters, domestic abuse and financial disputes.
I have considerable experience of court advocacy and contested hearings although, wherever possible, I seek to promote a non-confrontational approach to family problems
I am also trained as a mediator and collaborative lawyer and have a growing collaborative caseload.
My specialities include:
- Divorce and family law
- Finances in Family breakdown
- Private Law children matters
- Cohabitation issues and disputes
- Domestic Violence / Abuse
I studied law at Leeds University and undertook my solicitors finals at Chester College of Law
I feel I can make a real difference by helping clients to achieve fair settlements and minimise conflict and antagonism.
I deal with matters sensitively and my aim is to help families get through difficult times and look to the future positively.
“I just wanted to write to express my gratitude to you for seeing me safely through the divorce process! I've come a long way since the first time I met you, significantly helped by your compassion and professionalism.”
“Dear Valerie, Very many thanks for all you've done and for your patience throughout the process. Now I need a party planner. Very best wishes.”
“Thank you very much for your guidance, advice and acting on my behalf. (My Partner) will be vacating the property shortly and has moved a majority of his items now to his mother's. This has been a difficult and somewhat delicate time but the day we sat down with you to discuss this made it much easier to deal with. (My Partner) is accepting of it now and as for me I cannot face life with someone who makes me so unhappy. So once again many thanks.”
“The money is safe and sound - yippee! Thanks for all your help and support.”
“Thank you very much for helping me with my divorce, I really appreciate everything you have done”
