I qualified as a Solicitor in 1996. I have practiced as a Solicitor in both the private and public sector in Bristol, Birmingham and South Wales, specialising as an Employment Lawyer.
I have a great deal of experience in advising both large and small employers and employees, on all contentious and non-contentious Employment Law matters.
As a result of my experience I obtain a lot of referral work from other lawyers where they are conflicted, in respect of, e.g. Settlement Agreements and Employment Tribunal matters.
I am also a trained Acas Mediator. I am friendly and robust when advising and representing my clients.
I obtained a BA(Hons) Degree in Economics and History in 1985 from Cardiff University.
I originally began my career in the Financial Services Industry, where I spent a number of years working for a Building Society, Banking Group and Insurers before turning to the Law. I obtained the Common Professional Examination at London Metropolitan University in 1991, and I then completed my Law Society Finals at the University of Glamorgan in 1992. I served my articles at Rausa Mumford Solicitors, in Cardiff.
Outside of work I enjoy catching up with friends and spending time with my wife and 2 children. My favourite sport is football. I am a coach and manager for a Junior football team, and I am also a qualified football referee. I like listening to many different types of music.
I am a volunteer legal adviser at the award-winning Cardiff ‘pro-bono’ advice clinic ‘The Speakeasy’, where a significant amount of the advice I give relates to discrimination matters.
