I qualified as a solicitor during 2008 and have practised in family and child care law ever since.
I joined the family and child care team at Rubin Lewis O’Brien during August 2011, working alongside other solicitors in the department including Head of the Family Department, Valerie Henley and Head of Child Care, Rhys Warren. On 1st November 2017 I became a Partner of the firm.
I was over the moon to accept the job as I had heard about RLO’s reputation – professional but always friendly and approachable.
Although my specialism focuses much on public law Children Act 1989 matters and social services involvement with a family, I also deal with private law Children Act 1989 Matters including Child Arrangement Orders (contact and residence), Adoption and Special Guardianship Orders. Matters of domestic violence and obtaining Non-Molestation Orders under the Family Law Act 1996 is also an area I can assist with.
In August 2017 I was delighted to be admitted onto the specialist Law Society Children Panel, meaning I am now also able to represent and take instructions from children in proceedings.
I give clear, honest advice in difficult, upsetting and often confusing situations whilst being alert to that fact that this area of the law requires sensitivity and a great deal of understanding.
I am passionate about what I do. If you seek my advice, my paralegal and I will make every effort to see that you are supported throughout.
In my spare time, I enjoy visiting places near and far to try out the local cuisine and wine. I am interested in walking (my husband and I summited Ben Nevis last year), Formula 1 racing, art and design. Most of all, I love spending time with family, friends and my German Shepherd, Nahla.
“Thank you so much Angharad, I know sometimes I don't show it but I really do appreciate all you do to represent me! I don't know how to put it in posh words but basically you are a legend!! No one has EVER fought for me like you and fair play you do your job very well!! Finding you to represent me was the best decision I ever made and honestly you don't know how thankful I am to you and XX for representing me today.”
