Legal Secretary – Probate Department

Experience as a secretary is essential, preferably within a legal environment.  

The Work: This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a busy and successful Private Client Team in Cwmbran. You will be responsible for working with and supporting the Partner and will offer all round secretarial and administrative support, including liaising with clients and answering basic queries, diary management, producing documents (with the use of digital dictation), and maintaining filing and record systems. 

 The Private Client team provides specialist services to a range of private individuals, trustees, executors and charities within Tax, Trusts, Wills and Probate. The work will be varied and will cover: • LPA’s • Mental Capacity Matters • COP • Professional Attorney & Deputy Services • Inheritance Tax & Estate Planning 

 Strong communication and IT skills are important, but, working as part of one of the high-level teams, you must also be a real team player who can thrive in an atmosphere of shared goals and achievements.

Legal Assistant – Conveyancing Department 

 We are seeking a Legal Assistant to assist in our busy Conveyancing  Department, in our office in Central Cwmbran. 

This is a full-time permanent position; hours are 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday. 

Applicants must have some legal experience and be computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Leap. 

Liaising with estate agents and other third parties 

Updating clients throughout the process. 

Working to company policies and compliance standards. 

Using a case management system 

Opening and closing of files. 

Must be a team player, who can pick up work as necessary from the various fee-earners, in order of priority.

Full Time Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner 

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic residential property fee earner to join our busy team. 

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or a legal executive with appropriate experience.  The role will be full-time, and will encompass the full range of residential property sales, purchases, transfers of equity, remortgages etc. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working as part of a team, with the ability to work independently where required. 

Computer literacy is a must, and experience of working with case management software would be an advantage. 

Hours are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Full-time Paralegal – Family Department 

We have a vacancy for a full-time Paralegal to join our busy Family team based at our office in Cwmbran.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting a Partner who runs a caseload dealing with divorce, separations, financial settlements, children and other family matters.  Further duties will include audio typing, liaising with counsel, performing legal research, operating spreadsheets, legal aid administration and court attendances.

The successful candidate should have excellent organisational and administrative skills.

Previous experience as a Paralegal/Legal Secretary is desirable.   Good communication and IT skills are essential, as well as good typing skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related packages.   A high standard of written and spoken English is essential.

This is a full-time permanent position  (35 hours per week).
