Wills, Trusts and Probate Solicitor

Due to expansion we have an opportunity available for a solicitor (1-4 years PQE or equivalent experience) to join our busy, friendly team.

The role will include the full range of private client work, including Wills, powers of attorney and applications to the Court of Protection as well as the creation and administration of trusts and management of clients’ affairs under powers of attorney or orders of the Court.

A knowledge of practice and procedure in contentious probate and Court of Protection matters would be an advantage, as would membership of STEP or SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly).

There is scope for the right candidate to develop their practice and to play a part in the continued growth of the department, and to foster links with businesses and organisations with which the firm has dealings.

Attention to detail, and superb time management skills are a must.

The role is based in our central Cwmbran Office, 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday although part time hours will be considered.

Practice Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Practice Manager.

The role represents a significant opportunity for the successful candidate and will include direct involvement in the implementation of the Firm’s development, future planning and the maintenance of Law Society and other accreditations, such as Lexcel.

Whilst the role will not include a direct cashiering function, which will continue to be managed by our Senior Cashier, an understanding of accounts and financial operations of law firms will be required. Management experience and excellent people skills are essential.

In summary the role will mean:

  • Ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the firm
  • Ensuring compliance with office procedures/
  • Assisting the Managing Partner in the implementation of the firm’s strategic business plans, including marketing, networking, business continuity etc
  • Working with the firm’s HR officer
  • Chairing quarterly meetings of departmental heads

The successful applicant will be positive and ambitious, and a pragmatic problem solver. They will be familiar with Lexel and CQS, and will have the ability to work with all members of the team.

This is a full time, permanent position based in our office in central Cwmbran.   Hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
